Car owner newbie question

Hello people. First ever question on this forum, but I've been a fan of Scotty's YouTube channel for some time now. I never owned a car until last month when I got a Toyota Highlander 2003, V6.

My questions are: Is there a difference between a drive belt and a serpentine belt, or are they the same thing? Also, how long are they supposed to last and can anyone recommend a good brand which I can order on Amazon?

Thanks in advance!

Clarification: Mileage on the vehicle?

Mileage is approx 80,000 miles

They are the same. ACDelco is a good one. Check the belt conditions, but depends on the driving conditions, they should be changed around 50k-100k miles.  I would change it since your car is old and you probably don't know when it was changed.

Thanks for the answer @yaser. I was thinking of changing it, even though it looks new.

You're welcome. It is a good idea to change it. Good luck.

Yep, sometimes I also herd them get called “elast”s and “v-belt”s.

they can last anywhere from 25k-100k miles.

Personally I use mostly Continental (ContiTech) on my cars - although there are plenty of cheaper alternatives.
