Scotty, my check engine light is on, and the code is a 3??? regarding the coolant temperature. The car starts fine - the temperature here is below freezing this time of year - it heats up until the temperature guage is in the midlle, normal, position. The heater is working fine, and I do not notice any problems(i.e. leaks, stumble) with the car. It's too damn cold to work on it now, and I do not have a garage. Am I hurting the car by putting off replacing the sensor until the weather warms up? I'm 62 and I can't deal with the cold like I used to. Thank you in adance.
What is the exact code? "3???" doesn't tell us much.
let us know when it warms up and you can work on the car again.

{black}:idontknow: depends on the code.
who says you need a new sensor?
