I have a 2007 Ford Freestar automatic with 80,000 miles. There is a "popping" noise which appears to be coming from the intake (when air filter removed). I replaced the Idle control valve, cleaned out the throttle body, replaced plugs & coil pack with no change. Popping is loud enough to hear outside of the van, and does not seem to affect performance. I read that some folks have there ECM reporgrammed to correct this, but results seem to be mixed on if this fixes the problem. any suggestions?
