My ranger slips a few 100 rpm constantly, and does not shift or make power about 4k rpm. It still shifts smooth, but takes a lot longer shifting 3k+rpm(5-15 seconds, sometimes not until I let off the gas). I bought the truck used and it's not the first transmission that's been in it because the gear shift indicator is off a gear(when its in park it says its in reverse). Do you think it could be a torque converter and some shifter solenoids, or should I get a new transmission? If I get a new transmission should I try a junk yard one or a remanufactured one like a Jasper. It's got 127k Miles, no check engine light.
I changed the trans fluid and filter about 500 miles ago, did not change a thing.
