Hello, Scotty. The car has a bit weird start up -the light on the dashboard seem to be flickering while the startup process is taking place. The battery seems fine to me, 12 Volts when not started. 14.2 V while working(alternator seems to be working), but this still happens. While running, I get not dashboard light show. Do you think the starter is going bad, a wiring problem has occurred or there could be something else? Thanks
If you test a battery with a voltmeter you should get at least 13 volts are so 12 volts is way too low realize technically those are 13.2 volt batteries are six cells and each cell is 2.2 volts
That's weird then, this battery is a bit over 4 months old. I saw this issue appear only a few weeks after I bought the battery. So I should test it instantly after running the car for a while, to make sure the battery is charged? So I can expect 13.2 Volts? Thank you. God bless
Today I measured directly after running for half an hour and it was 12.6V :/
Check your instrument panel dimmer switch. It's probably going South.
Check your voltage after it sits overnight without turning the car on.
The flickering lights we indeed caused by an exhausted battery, but the thing, that caused the exhausted battery was actually the bluetooth module, which would continue discharging the battery with the car off. It took 2 to 3 days in the winter to exhaust the battery to a state, where I could not start the car. 5 days - you don't even have enough juice to open the door with the remote. Once the bluetooth module was disconnected everything was good. The battery was brand new back then. Now it's a bit over an year, and still going strong.
