- 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid 157,000 miles, automatic, P0335 code.
- the engine starts and runs fine for about 10 seconds then it limits out at about 3000 RPM's and idles very rough with virtually no power (just enough to move it back and forth on level ground).
- It has a new crankshaft position sensor from Honda and has correct voltage and ground ( 12v/gnd/5v).
- I replaced the PCM and coded it to my VIN and immobilizer, but my THINKCAR Thinkdiag still throws a P0966 and a P0335 code. I don't think the P0966 is the problem, but I don't understand what could be causing the erratic engine behavior and the P0335 (no signal detected code).
- HELP!

P0966 might be the problem. That is a transmission issue. And kinda makes sense if the engine is revving but doesn’t go anywhere. Because the TRANSmission can’t TRANSmit the power from the engine.
I don’t know how to solve it, but I think that is the general direction to look at is the transmission.

P0335 could be related to timing. When was the last time the timing belt was changed? A stretched or worn belt could mess up the timing. It could also be a sensor.
