I have a 2007 Kia sorento with 195k miles. I paid 3400 for the car back in October of 2022 and it had 161k miles when I bought it. I’ve replaced the water pump, the valve cover gaskets, the radiator cooling fan and the alternator. The clutch on the a/c compressor is going out so the a/c doesn’t come on all the time and also the last time I got an oil change I was told the transmission was leaking. Sure enough, one morning I was leaving for work and the car wouldn’t accelerate or get out of 1st gear. The check engine light came on and I scanned it and I got a transmission control system code (P0700) and a shift solenoid code (P0753). I added more transmission fluid because it was low and it seems to be shifting okay now. Is it worth fixing or should I stop dumping money into the car and buy something newer? (Also I live in Texas so a/c is a need)
Is it worth fixing
A 17-year-old high-mileage Kia that's falling apart? I hardly think so.
