Hey Scotty. My wife and I are looking for a fun summer car here in Rhode Island. We have an opportunity to get 2007 Lexus SC 430 one owner just under 98,000 miles. Spent its entire life in a garage owned by an old couple. I know it’s a v8 which is fine. Just wondering about it or look for something else Miata etc.

My 2 thoughts?
1. You can't beat a Miata for summer fun on a reasonable budget
2. The Lexus "sounds" like a gem, if it checks out. But it's 16 years old, has twice as many parts and things to go wrong, any parts/work is going to cost twice as much - hell, gas, oil, insurance will cost twice as much.
If it was me, I'd get the Lexus, but that's me. Here's some actual data:
