I have a 2007 Mercury Milan V6 Auto with about 150k miles on it. It started squealing about 2 weeks ago and a friend told me he thinks it's the idler pully. Just the other day it seemed to loose all power and felt like it was going to stall but I managed to get it home without that happening. Now i can start it no problem but it idles really rough and when i step on the gas it doesn't even rev the engine. I spoke with another friend of mine he he thinks it could be the timing belt. What are your thoughts? And is this something i can fix myself, i'm used to doing minor things like breaks, altenator, tune ups etc.
Thanks,
