Scotty, installed new Ac compressor 2007 Mustang calls for 7 oz pag oil and 26 oz of 134a my question is why when i am adding refrigerant after 3 oz it is reading 50psi on low pressure gauge and 175 on high side and compressor is not staying engaged , I am fearful of damaging new unit. I also changed orifice tube not sure if i have other issues
Well here's the problem. The amount of pag oil in the system can only be put back in if you flush the entire system out because most of the oil hides in the system and if you just replace the compressor and put in 7 oz of oil, it'll generally be way too much oil in the system. Plus of course no one knows what's wrong with the system. It could have a weak evaporator. It could have a clogged condenser. Many things can go wrong in an AC system and if you replacing the compressor and leaving many of the old parts, your of course taking a gamble
