Hey scotty I have a nice looking well kept 2007 Toyota Avalon Limited with230k. The timing chain cover is leaking too bad to drive. Should I buy a new engine or rebuild or junk the car. My wife is 62 yrs old in the market for new SUV can you advise on a reliable vehicle.

It might be worth getting the leak fixed, but realize that is an engine out repair. The Car Care Nut has a video on it, I think he charged $2500 or so. If you elect to go this route, you want someone of his caliber to do the job. A lot could go wrong and you want someone honest to recommend any other repairs or preventative maintenance to be done while the engine is out.
