When we 1st got the car we got codes p0171 and we changed the mass air flow ,crankshaft, camshaft,02 bank 1, pcv valve and tube,spark plugs, and still we are coming across the same problem we can only drive the car a short distance and it will start right up but high on the rmp. When we drive it say about over 10 mins when we get back in the car to start it up it won't start it will attempt to start but then loss power after we will have to sit for about 45 mins before the car decides it will start. What can be the cause of this oh and also code p0500 is there now
Have you checked the fuel filter to see if it now clogged? Or the fuel pump if it is pumping?
No I haven't thanks I will just replace the pump and filter. Should I do that?
It would be a good idea to test it first so you aren’t just replacing parts that don’t need to be replaced.
Oh okay.. question how would I go about testing it on my own?
That’s a good question. I hope someone here has details on it. I’m not a mechanic myself, just a DIYer, so my knowledge is limited.
