- I have a 2007 Toyota Camry manual transmission. The RPM gauge recently started revving when I'm going down the road in 4th and 5th gear I'll push down on the accelerator and the RPMs will go higher it will still accelerate forward but the RPMs will rev I did have the gear oil changed at Valvoline could too much or too little oil affect it? The clutch is fine I checked it

It sounds like the Valvoline place over filled your transmission with gear oil that is now blowing past the input shaft seal and is contaminating the clutch disc/pressure plate. How can you say the clutch is fine? You can't see it. Please use some punctuation next time. We would really appreciate it.

If RPMs are revving up in top gears faster than the car's forward motion then your clutch is slipping.
