Hi scotty. I was on the road when the check engine light came on and saw it was p0420 on my matrix. It has 150,000 miles on it. It has been running very good since I got a new key for it.
Any advise on this code please. Thank you.

The code relates to the catalytic converter efficiency. Scotty has couple of videos on this code and how to clean the cat if necessary.
btw, does your engine burn oil?

As far as I can see it does not burn oil, no.
The oil burning question is a good one. If your engine is shooting dirty smoke through the cat it will mess it up fast. You don't want to invest in a fix just to have it fail again.

I got that code on a Prius. I changed out the cat, and it went away.
