2007 Volvo S40 CV Axle FWD 2.4 liter inline 5 Automatic 153,534 miles
My daughter has a Volvo S40 with torn boots. The factory Volvo CV axles are insanely expensive. Is there any decent after market or OEM brands that we can use? Volvo wants $2,500 to replace them, a local Volvo specialist wants $1,500 so there has to be a better way, Its front wheel drive and 2.4 liter inline 5 cylinder. Thanks for any advice.

Oem Volvo parts are very pricey from the dealer, and even oem from places like fcp euro are still expensive. Rock Auto, or your local box stores (o'reilly, advance, autozone, napa etc.) will be your affordable options. If you're not doing the work yourself, then you still have to pay a garage for the labor. Good luck.
