I have 2008 Chrysler Pacifica and it has shifting issues I replace the solenoid pack but the issue is still there. So I took it to get it checked after I put it on and now it says P0882 that's the tipm needs to be replaced. Do I have to get it reprogrammed or is it a plug and play and will it fix the issue or am I wasting my time.
You can not replace the components with Toyota components.
Waste of time, the 2012 Jeep Liberty I inherited has had the TIPM replaced twice. Luckily I didn’t pay for it, It’s a FCA thing. If it goes out again the Liberty is gone.
I like the body of it. Could I just swap the engine, transmission and computer for the Toyota 4 runner cause I love durability of the Toyota 4Runner.
@Auset @mod_man is correct, you cannot swap Toyota components with a Chrysler. If you’re going to keep it and fix it especially with electronics components I always stick with OEM. Yes it sucks because even the OEM stuff is bad. But the reality is it’s a poorly made/engineered vehicle. Unfortunately that is the consequence of buying and keeping a vehicle like that long term.
@auset if you like the 4 runner maybe get what you can for the Pacifica and get an older 4 runner. Now those will go 300k if well maintained.
The Pacifica kind of looks like the Toyota Venza which is a ton more reliable you might consider that, or just get a 4runner
Okay thank you so very much I'm going to try that cause it's just a project suv. I'm not to crazy about the body of the 4runner but I'm in love the body of Chrysler Pacifica..
