I'm getting a 2008,5.4l automatic,F-150. It won't go in reverse, is this a common problem? If so what's the repair? Are there stuff to do cheap wise maybe? Or some procedure to get it to work again?
Clarification: You say “you are getting” - do you already own the truck or are you in the process of becoming the new owner?

Is your foot on the brake pedal while trying to shift out of park? Will it go into forward gears?
