Hello guys, I have a ford explorer 2008.

We recently bought it and tried to tune it up. Oil change and stuff. The check engine light was on so we took a scan tool and read the codes.

We had code P0302 cylinder 2 misfire.

We changed plugs, coils and intake sensor. It.still won't go away,

Any suggestions?

Change the coil between 1 and 2 and clear the codes.  See if it comes back on 2. If it does it’s possible you are looking at engine internals(worn cam lobe, burnt valve, bad fuel injector, blown head gasket, valve train) or a bad ignition control module(usually doesn’t cause just one cylinder though). At this point throwing parts at it is gonna get costly if it stays on cylinder 2. I would have a mechanic you trust diagnose it.

They also make a spark tester, it’s like an extension for the coil, has a light in it. So you can verify if it’s firing or not. That will rule out the coil, ignition module and possibly the ECM. Here is a link to one that works with individual coils.

Hello, could you explain how I could swap out oils on this type.of vehicle

Which motor do you have? Do your coils sit individually on top the spark plugs or do you have a coil pack with spark plug wires?

Sorry for the late reply.
It's a 4.o.
It has a coil pack that is why I asked you how could I swap out coils if their all connected
