2008 Ford Focus Thermostat is it worth replacing it?

I have 2008 Ford Focus that has 180,000 miles. The OBD reader tripped P0128.

I was looking into fixing it myself but found out the engineers at Ford made it very difficult to replace it.

I've been driving with it for a couple months and planning on replacing the car in a year, so I was wondering if it worth fixing it. All I notice is my Gas mileage wasn't as good as the time I got the car.

Thank you!

I really don't think your gas milage is related to your thermostat..but, I'd replace it..just so it doesn't get stuck shut one day and leave you overheated, I'd also change the fuel filter, air filter and  spark plugs.it'll make your gas milage better, if it hasn't been done

if the computer thinks the engine is too cold, it might run in open loop (rich). Not good for fuel economy or your cat.con.
