My moms 2008 Honda Pilot makes a loud whining sound when the wheel is turned far to the right and left. Rack and pinion was replaced in 2016 by the Honda dealership but we don’t know what to do. It drives fine it’s just annoying.

Check your power steering fluid level. Make sure it is clear and not foamy in any way. If it is then it is sucking in air and causing cavitation. If its low add the approved fluid recommended by the manufacturer. Check back ya' hear ?

Hey so I checked the fluid and it was fine so I ended up calling a shop and they said cracked power steering pumps are common on the pilot so we changed it and it’s all good now.
