I recently purchased a nice '08 Hummer H2 and would like a decent repair manual. I don't want to buy the $800 factory books advertised on the net - just need to do basic troubleshooting and maintenance at home. I would like to have good wiring diagrams / schematics for electrical problems. Would a Chilton or Haynes manual be OK, or would it be best to purchase an online version (such as emanualonline.com for $26.00)? I have a fair amount of experience servicing my own vehicles but don't want to rebuild transmissions / engines or similar extensive work. I plan to buy an OBDII code reader also and would appreciate any recommendations for a reasonably priced unit to use for most vehicles. Thanks for any help.
The Haynes manual is a good option for your repair manual. For OBD-II code readers, I have a BlueDriver scan tool that I use.
For more information on OBD-II code readers- click tools on the top right of your screen and then click diagnostic tools.
