I have got a 2008 diesel Hyundai Santa Fe, 115,000 KMs, automatic transmission which dies randomly. The only trouble code found is P1186: FTS low Fuel Pump Temperature Sensor Low. My mechanic changed all sensors including the fuel pump. He even went ahead and replaced the entire fuse box and the ECU but all this did not solve the problem. My mechanic is desperate and has run out of ideas to solve the problem. I need your advice.
Well first I would have never bought that vehicle. Korean vehicles are pain in the ass. But you have it so you're going to have to find somebody who has a dealer level scan tool to analyze that whole system. It could easily be you have some type of computer module or wiring failure as they change the parts but the code is still there. And only a dealer level scan tool is going to be able to access something that in depth on a diesel Korean car
