Hey Scotty, I recently got ahold of my great grandpas 1979 Ford F100 Ranger, 302, with a C4 three speed transmission. My main question is what all should I replace on it to get it ready for the road? It's sat since 2008, and I've got it running and replaced the carburetor, fuel filter, and did an oil change, but should I do anything with the transmission if it's not leaking or should I leave it? I believe the truck has around 128,000 miles on it.

Check all the hoses for rot and replace as needed. I would bleed the brakes, grease the caliper slide pins, change power steering fluid, coolant for sure and maybe radiator and water pump with thermostat. I may go a little more than some though.

Tires due to age.

Just off the top of my head.
