Scotty, is the 2008 Lexus IS 250 AWD a good vehicle for a first time teen driver and is it reliable just like the es? Is the 2.5 v6 any good? Do you think a 6'5 teen would fit in it?

Why not just go with a Toyota and save money on maintenance, fuel, etc?

The IS series are small cars. I'm 6'9" and it ain't happening.

Damn. You should have been in the NBA. I already have enough trouble being 6'5.

They are good cars but for a teenager, they are fast. Besides that, these cars are in the small side, so it may not fit well.

they're not fast only have 204 horses, the 350's have 306 though.

It is not a heavy car, so 204 hp is plenty for that one.

Surprisingly, it weighs 3700 lbs. and it is decently heavy, so it's not a whole lot of power, but the awd definelty helps make it fast I guess.

Yes, they are as good as the ES.

yea all lexus are good. test drive it i personally dont like is 250, is350 is nicer. i personally like GS ones see what you like then get a real inspection on it..

i think the gs 350 has way higher insurance for a teenager because of the 300 horsepower though.

Bear in mind that IS's have a front inner tire wear problem going back a very long time and  Lexus has never addressed the problem.  The inner part of the front tires wear out in 15000 miles and sometimes less and you have to replace the front tires frequently.  You can improve the problem but not necessarily solve it by replacing the bushings in the front steering arms.

You can google this problem and read about it on some of the Lexus forums
