My MKX has a small grind/vibration when accelerating, especially at low speeds. I've kept up with transmission maintenance so I don't believe that's it. Does this sound like the CV axles?

If you can, jack up the car and look for signs of tear/play in that part of the suspension where the sound is coming from. That will tell you for sure. Most likely though yes.
