2008 Mercury Marquis LS
43,000 miles, and only 2 owners, both elderly and lived in a Georgia rural community. The current owner is 92 yrs old and doesn't drive anymore. Car is in pristine condition. I haven't drive tested it yet.
I'm elderly too (68). Sale price 9,000. What do you think? Deal or no deal?
The Marquis was discontinued in 1986, so I think you mean "Grand Marquis".
Reliable enough. It's a big heavy, body-on-frame car, with a big engine, so don't expect good fuel economy. The 4.6 was a fairly reliable engine, but being 14 years old, it means some of the plastics and rubbers will be deteriorated.
Things to watch out for are spark plug threads. Ford didn't make them deep enough, and the soft aluminum tends to strip out.
My biggest issue is the price. The seller is being incredibly greedy.
If you do go for it, have it inspected before handing any money over. Lots of scumbags out there right now.
