Yes they are worth the money!
Check Costco. Sometimes they have Michelin on sale. If the timing fits, I usually go Michelin if I can get them on sale.
Any specific model you are looking at? Michelin is an enormous company that makes many different tires. Michelin's tires range from just OK to absolutely spectacular (Defender LTX, for example).
Tire shop guys tend to like Michelins because they usually have good quality control and their tires are easy to balance. But whether they are worth the money depends on which particular tire you are looking at.
