Hi Scotty! I have a 2008 Mustang GT 4.6 V8 3V 5 speed standard with 70,000 original miles. I want to flush the old transmission fluid. Owners manual says to use ATF fluid. I have a few bottles of Royal Purple synromax manual transmission fluid, would that be safe to use? One other question... What quality spark plugs do you recommend? I have used regular Ford Motorcraft plugs last change at 40,000 miles. Thanks for posting all your videos. Great learning and entertainment!

Use whatever the manual tells you. Transmission and plugs.
What do you mean by 5 speed standard? Is this a manual or automatic transmission? What lubricant does your owner's manual specify for your vehicle's transmission?
I want to flush the old transmission fluid.
Why exactly?
I have a few bottles of Royal Purple synromax manual transmission fluid, would that be safe to use?
No.
For spark plugs, check the owner's manual for specs. Iridium spark plugs usually last a long time. Denso and NGK are good brands.
Some manual transmissions due in fact use ATF. My 5th gen (2011 &2015) Camaro SS with 6spd manual called for ATF. I used the best Amsoil ATF when I changed the fluid out. I've had bad luck with Royal Purple products, so I don't ever recommend using their fluids. Your owner's manual should call out what plugs and transmission fluid to use.
My bad... 5 speed standard shift manual trans. Owners manual says Mercon ATF. I never heard of using ATF in a manual tansmission.
Everything I could find says, beginning with the 2008 model, 3.2 quarts Mercon V.
