Hi ya, Scotty... My 2000 Chevy Venture mini van has 298,000 on it,.. and the body is getting a little beat up.. I paid $1,200 for it over 10 years ago (198 k when I got it).. I've done a few repairs and mods on the cooling and transmission to get the old girl to the 300k mark.. Pressure regulator for the trans and yearly bottles of "stop leak" for the intake manifold gasket that I never replaced.. Got that crap Dex-cool out of the engine as soon as I got.. Here's the kicker.. "IT DOESN'T BURN OIL,..the AC is ice cold (never been to touched, not even a re-charge).. But then "Betty-Lou" is getting old and tired.. She's used for nothing more than a feed and hay wagon now.. So I'm always on the look out for a replacement...
Here's my question... Came across a 2008 Quest for $3k.. 160K on the odometer.. It's in real nice shape.. And yes, I know about the Jacko crap CVT that it's got in it..
But wait, I can't find any complaints about the 2008-2010 Quest Jacko's... I'm I fooling myself or were those the only years they were't total garbage???
Do I hold on Betty-Lou or go all in on the Quest ????
PS.. The last time anybody worked on my cars, other than me.. was when you and I were both 16 years old...
Ok, that gen quest does not have a CVT (it's a 5-speed auto, the second-gen has a CVT), if u really like the van and you know how to maintain them properly, go ahead since $3000 for a 13-year-old Nissan Quest is not bad. Just make sure u have a mechanic check it out and don't put a whole bunch of money into it.
Sweet,... NO, CVT.. that's all I needed to hear...
