2008 Nissan Xterra SE (Automatic)

Hey scotty, i’ve had my xterra since my dad passed it down to me and its been about 7 years.  Its got about 195k miles on it and has a code P0447.

my question is, how much would a job for this code run? Ballpark estimate is ok, or do you recommend i do it myself?

the car has also sat for a little over a year and im back to driving it again.  Should i cut my losses in case theres further damage, or start with this “simple fix” first since im told these models last a lifetime

Well, you can try an evap van valve. That's normally what it is. But if it runs okay you could just ignore the whole thing. It's just a stupid emissions code and since it's had for a while driving it around it might just end up fixing itself after you drive it and it gets used to running again
