2008 Pontiac G6

Greetings Everyone,

Currently looking at a 2008 Pontiac G6 with under 100k miles for sale.  It is the GT Sedan so it has the 3.5L V6.  Been trying to find some information on this vehicle, regarding its long term reliability. I have seen some with mileage well over 200k. I understand it had some power steering issues causing failure, that had since been recalled. Did the recall fix the problem? or is the electronic power steering still susceptible to failure even after repair? My gut is telling me to avoid, and stick with Toyota, Honda, etc.  But everyone in my area is asking way to much for Camry's, Corolla's and the like that are high mileage and beat up. So is the Pontiac a ticking time bomb, or with regular maintenance can be a middle of the road reliable vehicle.  Any and all input is greatly appreciated., or personal experience with these vehicles (driving, maintenance, repair, etc)

All the best to everyone in the community!

Yeah, go with your gut. Pay going in or pay going out. Pay if front for Toyota and you have less chance of serious problem in the long run.  I do like the g6 ok motor, but it's gm. Most stuff stuck to the motor can be a big problem

Save your money. The G6 is a very cheaply made car and it shows.
