My girlfriend said she doesn’t know if she’s changed her transmission fluid. Her 2008 Prius has 162,000 miles. Should I go have the transmission fluid changed? Thank you! {black}:idontknow:
Yes of course you should maintain it if you don't want it to fail
Thank you
Apparently, Toyota and Lexus hybrid transmissions are a bit different than naturally aspirated cars. You may go ahead and change the ATF with Toyota OEM fluid:
The 1NZ-FXE engine in the Prius XW20 is still naturally aspirated (no charged air). However it is an otto cycle engine with different compression ratios. But you are correct that it doesn't have a conventional transmission. It only has one speed. Conventional automatic transmission wisdom does not apply here.
Thanks for the information.
Thank you!
Don't even think about touching the transmission fluid with that mileage. Leave it alone.
Roger that! Thank you!
