Hi scotty I'm a big fan of the channel and am looking for some help. I have a 2008 ram 1500 with the 5.7 auto trans and 4wd. It's got 233000 miles on it and I got it as my first truck. The problem is it's starting to stall at red lights if I have to brake hard. It always happens after I idle for 10 ish minutes at the gas station and drive after filling it up. I took it to a shop and they have no idea why it happens and they said they couldn't replicate it. It's happened before but I knew what the problem was. The battery had corrosion on the positive terminal so all I had to do was clean it off. I finally got smart and put anti corrosion stuff on it but now the truck still stalls with a clean terminal. I got my cheap scan tool and looked at the data the only thing I saw  was the fuel trims were high long fuel trim 1 was 16.4% and long fuel trim 2 was 14.8%. The only other problems it has is a very small evap leak and the alternator makes a clicking sound. On the alternator if you put your hand on it you can feel something hitting in it and I put my hand on the valve cover under it and could still feel it but weaker. Any tips would be amazing .

Those fuel trims indicate the computer is correcting for a lean condition. Check for vacuum leaks. From your description the alternator sounds like it's having some problems. Have it and the battery load tested. The small evap leak may just be the gas cap if you're lucky.

Your hydraulic, roller lifters are probably failing.  Pretty typical on this engine.

sounds like your brake booster is leaking vacuum
