2008 Saab 9-3 Aero
Bought the car new in 2008, Absolutely love it and it runs great! Has almost 200000 miles and I have never changed the gear oil (6 speed manual). Do you think I should change the gear oil? I keep the car in a garage and I take extremely well care of it. Thank you for all your wonderful content over the years you have helped me out greatly. God bless you Sir!

Yes, the gear oil should have been changed a long time ago. Fortunately with a manual transmission, unlike automatic, there is no caveat about changing it at high mileage.

of course you should. It gets dirty like any other oil. Every 60k or so.
