Hey Scotty. First welcome to Tennessee! We are happy to have you here! I have a 2008 scion XB with the dreaded  2AZ-FE oil consumption issue. I am past the free recall and repair on my mileage. I am consistent about changing engine oil etc but have reached a pretty severe point oil usage wise. Other than the excessive engine oil consumption I have no issues. I have been consistent in maintaining oil changes etc since 2000 miles. I am currently at 185000. Scoping the cylinders I do not see any severe damage just normal carbon buildup. Is it worth the effort to use seafoam and a soak to see if it may clear up / loosen the rings and ports etc. Is it advisable to maybe go to a higher viscosity oil than recommended (5w-20) to possibly lessen the oil blow by?  Once again welcome to Tennessee:)

@ralphie42
a friend has 70k on rav4 with same engine burns oil like mad they are getting rid of it, scion xb's are pretty reliable besides the engine

You can go to a little higher viscosity oil maybe even add a quart of Lucas heavy duty oil additive that doesn't really hurt anything I seen people drive them years that way as long as you keep adding oil and don't ruin the engine from lack of lubrication
