Hi Scotty and fellow moderators, my father's 2008 Corolla have 240,000KM milage and I feel vibration from the steering wheel when I not flooring gas padel but immediately stop when I accelerate it. My father said he never hit any pothole and just change brake pad last year. The car tyres are 3 years old, but he not using his car very much since the end of 2019, no visible crack on tyres. My bet is on the tyres, but what else I need to check before buying a set of tyres?

When was the last time an alignment was done? I like to start with the simple things before getting carried away. If you have any unusual tread wear, or if the car isnt tracking straight, you may need an alignment to fix the vibration.

It's also possible you lost a wheel weight and now you have a tire out of balance.

Thank you, I forgot to ask my father when he last did tires balancing and alignment. I will try to ask a good tire shop to do the balancing alignment and ask them to check my tire condition first before making any purchase.

Hey man, thanks for your analysis I no longer feel vibration during acceleration after balancing and alignment. It turns out all my tires are out of balance and 2 of them have cracks from the inside part of the rubber I let my tire shop do balancing and they suggest I just replace 2 cracked tires and swap the new set to the front of the car. Thank you very much

That's excellent. You're welcome. I'm glad you got it fixed up.
