My Highlander is a automatic with 155000 miles. It has a ticking sound when it is cold but when it warms up it goes away. It runs very well all the time should I be concerned and have it looked at by a mechanic?

Well I have a mechanic look at it but if he says it's not something as simple as a valve being out of adjustment I'd live with it I've had many people driving years that way and they still run cuz it wasn't a valve adjustment being out it would be a very expensive engine rebuild problem

It is related to the VVTI system and lack of lubrication to that system. The repair cost is a lot and as Scotty said, many people live with it.

Check your exhaust manifold for cracks or leaks.
