Dear Scotty,  I was thinking about buying this Toyota and selling my 2016 Mustang V6 convertible with 24,000 miles.  What do you think ?   I probably drive less than 5000 miles a year with the Mustang.

I think you'll be disappointed in the Solara. It will not have the handling or be a sporty as the Mustang.

I generally do not recommend a 2015+ Mustang, but if were going to it would be the V6 only, which you happen to have. I say keep it and enjoy it. There is nothing wrong with a Solara, but it is just a different type of ride from a Mustang.

Do you have any issue with the Mustang?

@Mod_Man knows a lot about the Mustang. He is the one in this forum to ask Sport car questions.

have you test driven a Solara yet? It is basically a Camry, does not have a sporty ride. And regardless of the riding, it is much money for the Solara.

@yaser Too kind as always. Thank you.

@Mod_Man Thank you for all your help.

thanks for your input

thank you all for your insights. I think I'll keep the Mustang and since I only drive it seasonally I will change the transmission fluid and the coolant every 5 years and the oil every 5,000 miles or at least annually.

The solara has a crappy interior and ride, it is basically a fake convertible. All it is is reliable. Nothing else. I say you should definetly keep the mustang. Mustangs are hard to come by in good condition. No one like toyota solaras; that's why they were discontinued. Mustang's transcend generations and still look good after 30 years.
