Hi Scotty,
Searching for a vehicle for my teen
What are your thoughts on the 2017-2019 Jeep Renegade. I’m looking for something on the smaller side with 4x4 for my daughter who will be a new driver. We average about 30-40 inches of snow during the winter so I’d feel more comfortable if she had a 4x4. Thanks for your input and time.

Late model Jeeps are not very reliable. If you need a small 4x4 something like a Subaru Crosstrek would be a better choice, though manual transmission is preferred on those because the CVTs are a weak point.
Video is for the Compass. Pretty sure it would also hold true for the Renegade. Remember the Renegade shares the same mechanical platform as the Fiat 500X. Not very good quality either.

Try finding a similiar year lexus nx200t. They are very nice vehicles. They have comfy interiors, moderate acceleration(235hp), are easy to maintain and reliable, and have excellent reslae value.
In my experience driving in the snow around Chicago for 30+ years, a front wheel drive vehicle with good aggressive tires will be just as good as a 4x4 in the snow.
