I have a 2008 tundra it only has 87k miles the truck won’t go past 35-40mph it goes through first and second then when it hits third it doesn’t wanna go anywhere and starts to rev. The transmission fluid hasn’t been changed the check engine Light is on and the vsc is blinking. What could be causing this other than the tranny giving out

You said the engine light is on you need to put a scan tool on it. Most auto parts stores do that for free now.

That’s what were probably going to do we’re a little nervous because we don’t have a parts store close and don’t wanna be stranded trying to make it there. I was just seeing if we might get lucky and someone else dealt with the same issue

did you check the transmission dipstick?

I thought they didn’t have a dipstick in an 08? Either way we brought it to the dealership and it had something to do with the intake getting water in it. It was over a $2000 job.
