Hey Scotty, I just bought a 2009 Acura TL FWD with 115,000 miles for my daughter who is going away to college next year. The car was owned by a Canadian couple who only drove it 6 months out of the year here in the winters in Arizona. Car is in great shape, always garaged and very well maintained at the local dealership including $3000 worth of recent maintenance changing the timing belt/water pump, flushing transmission fluid and tune up. What is your opinion of this 3.5L engine? It has a lot of power (maybe a little too much for an 18 year old girl) but I wanted something dependable for her while she's out of state at school. After watching one of your recent videos, we were considering a similar year Lexus IS250 or 350. I love the fact that those cars were made in Japan where the Acura is assembled in Ohio. Which do you think is a more dependable Car? Also, owners manual is saying 91 octane premium fuel only, would 87 octane be OK?
Thanks,

If the owner's manual calls for a specific octane, don't deviate from that type. It probably has a bit higher compression ratio which requires it.
