Should I buy 2009 Acura TSX

I have a chance to buy a 09 TSX owned by a family member with about 130K mi.  It has not been driven hard and has been dealer serviced (over serviced?) since new.  It has the 2.4L in-line 4 cyl VTEC engine with 5sp auto trans.  Anything special I should watch out for on this car?

I know some Honda engines had oil dilution issues, but this does not seem to consume any oil and I am not sure if this was one of the problem engines.  Will I need to have the valves manually adjusted?  The only minor issue is that the oil light comes on immediately after a cold start at the end of the street where there is a hill with maybe a 30 degree grade.  It goes off immediately after passing through the stop and never happens again so I assume this is just a cold oil condition that does not read the pressure quite right at start-up.

I am planning to move to Houston, I was looking forward to having a good and honest mechanic, but enjoy your new life in Nashville!  (I also had a 70 Maverick back in the day and I really miss working on that car).

Got a 2009 tsx for 6k cad a few months ago. I was about to write a question in the forum posts hoping scotty would reply 😀

Well, I'd say your oil issue could be something pretty stupid such as the solenoid, the oil pressure switch or something in the vtc and oil compartment. Either this is a quick fix or maybe your pump is just getting lazy and cannot supply the X psi of oil pressure your engine needs at cold start. Could be a seal or pressure issue somewhere else.

With that being said, I'd say sont touch that car unless yours confident and aware this could end up in a money pit. I'm 22, studying in industrial mechanics so mehh I could live with small issues like this I guess
