Hello im looking to get answers on saving my motor my oil got mixed with coolant and motor makes a knocking sound will draining fluids and repairing head gasket make the knocking sound stop? As well car has multiple missfire code p0300 and p0341
what are your thoughts abt this?
Scotty does not usually return to topics he has already answered.
From the information you have given here I"d say you were beating a dead horse.
Odds are your engine is toast. When they knock that is generally ride knocking meaning the bearings are damaged or the rods are bent and just doing a head gasket doesn't fix that. Those are pretty terrible Angie's to begin with. If you really want to fix the car for a reasonable price, you'd be better off trying to find a wrecked one in a junkyard and have the engine pulled out of it. If it was running okay before it was wrecked. Once water and oil mix the engine pretty much gets destroyed inside. And of course you can rebuild anything, but if you rebuild one of those, you're going to spend five six, seven Grand or more.
@scottykilmer hello Scott so I had a mechanic come check the car and he said it's fixable he doing a half rebuilt he's charging me 1600 now im not sure if its actually fixable but car turns on jst has that knocking sound the mechanic said he's gonna take the parts he removes to a shop for they can rebuilt it what are your thoughts abt this?
Hello i have a mechanic charging me 1500 to do a half rebuilt on my motor oil got mixed with coolant is it worth repairing it how long will it last? Since half of the motor is going to be new and the rest will not be?
