I have a 2009 F150 4x4 with 123k miles. Whenever I turn the switch to put it in 4H or 4L (when in N) nothing happens. I don't have any warning lights on the dash or codes pop up. How do I diagnose the issue at home and where should I start?

Check the connections at the switch for cleanliness and tightness. If necessary, replace the switch. If there is a fuse for the circuit, check that too.
