Scotty, I want to buy a 2009 Toyota highlander base with 192k miles on it from a friend for $3,000. Is it ok to buy it for that price and will that car last me hundreds of miles more or is it on it's way out?

My parents had a 2009 Toyota Highlander that was used as a rental when it was new. They bought it in 2016 and sold it in 2019. It was a good vehicle until it got rear ended. The damage didn't look that bad, but after the accident and it had been repaired, the transmission ended up slipping.  It had 129,000 miles on it when we sold it. I would say as long as it has been maintained well, hasn't been in a wreck, and it drives well with no transmission slippage, get it.
