Hey Scotty, I have a 2009 Honda Accord lx-s with 140,000 miles I just recent changed my oil and there’s no check engine light on or anything. The car tends to make a ticking noise . Once the car is off. It does it for 1 minute. Then it just stops . What can this mean ?
Most cars "make a ticking noise" after being shut off, … for a short while. Stuff is cooling off, after your enthusiastic drive you just completed. Exhaust, heat shields, manifolds, what-have-yous.
F.S.
Oh okay thank you ...
It is most likely that the radiator cooling fan is making that sound. It is one of the few things that will run after you shut-off the engine and stop a few minutes after.
Okay thank you ... so not a big deal then ?
Yep normal, since the engine is off the only sounds that will continue for a short time are the cooling fan or the exhaust metal contracting after being very hot. Both normal
Completely normal..
