Hi Scotty - Mark from Valley Cottage, NY - I have a 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid with 89,000 miles. Every time I press on the brakes the dashboard "Brake" light is illuminated and an annoying beep sound is heard. There doesn't appear to be any braking issues, the car brakes fine (Replaced pads, rotors and brake fluid at 87,000 miles). I hooked up my Blue Driver Scan Tool and NO codes of any kind show up. Any thoughts on what the problem could be?? - the beeping sound is really annoying in stop & go traffic (LOL). Thanks
Definitely a mechanical issue in the hydraulic system. After additional research and consultation with several mechanics that specialize in Honda's, it was determined that the Brake Accumulator was defective. Brake Accumulator, Honda Part Number 57019-SNC-A02, was replaced and problem solved!
Did you look in your owner’s manual? Check your brake fluid?
Nothing mentioned in the owners manual & brake fluid level is fine.
You may need a higher-grade scan tool than Blue Driver to read brake/ABS codes. (Or, you could have a mechanical fault in the hydraulic system that does not generate codes.)
