Private seller, wants $3000. Automatic tranny. I want to get him down to $2500 or less. I checked car complaints, I want to know what to expect as far as engine/tranny is concerned, and what is a decent asking price assuming no problems/major repairs necessary (I always bring prospects to my mechanic to put on the lift).
Basically what can I expect and is it worth it? For the record, I drive a 2009 Honda Accord, and I love it.
Well you and I are in different worlds because here in California that would be worth 7-9 grand, because people know they are great vehicles. 2500? What is the list price? That might even be a scam if you could get it that low.
$3000? Anyone in a different state please reply because in California that would go for 8 grand and 3000 for really any CR-V from that generation would be a scam.
I mean there are a few listings of CR-V from that gen in my area and here they are:

A lot more than 2500 bucks...
If a mechanic says it is in good shape then snatch it up for 3 grand.
Well he sold it. I am still curious about an answer though...
