I did check with a tech that has a fancy scanner and I feel he knows how to use it. He happens to be booked up at this time but advised me to disconnect the battery terminals and touch them together for a few seconds and the try the system again. He stated that he has a number of times shorted the 2 terminals and that it will reset the computer. Well, it didn't solve the issue but I did notice something odd today. While driving to the next town, I managed to get all 7 lights red. When I come to a stop, the AC would come out the vents properly but as soon as the light turned green and I accelerated, it would go back to the windshield. Once or twice, I would call it coincidence but it did it all 7 times? Are you sure that my 2009 Mercury is not using Vacuum to actuate the ducts? Why would coming to a stop effect the ducts if it is all computer driven?
Could be a bad vent door or liquid built up. If it detached & is just swinging, that would explain it changing on acceleration.
You can also check the vacuum lines on your own, just find out which combo does what & trace those lines for faults.
He stated that he has a number of times shorted the 2 terminals and that it will reset the computer.
Never do this.
