2009 Nissan Versa 141,000 miles.
Won’t go forward in drive especially when engine’s cold until I hit the gas. Is that a transmission problem?

Most likely, the Jatco CVTs used in those things are notoriously bad. You're lucky to have gotten 141,000 miles out of it. You could check to see if the trans has sufficient fluid (has it ever been serviced?), but other than that you'd need a transmission expert to confirm what's going on with it.
